When you look at the starting photo, you first have to rub your eyes to see whether the sea on the right is actually the sea or "just" the extended sky! Take your time to look at the photos and let yourself be captured by the atmosphere. At the latest when you look at the aerial photos, you will realise what a truly phenomenal property this is, in a dreamlike, secluded location with an absolutely fabulous, harmonious interior. "It does look like a lighthouse house" - true! The lighthouse house, completed in 1882, was modernised by the owners in 2012 according to strict criteria in an authentic, yet modern purist way and made available for rent. The furnishings of the house are as in the catalogue: Old reclaimed wooden beam ceilings, naturally left plastered walls, wooden floorboards, large open fireplace in open living and dining area with equally open kitchen. Luxurious, tasteful furnishings in a mixture of baroque, modern and purist country house style with authentic living accessories such as clocks, lanterns, candlesticks, which underline the maritime character of this house. The open-plan living area with the cosy large wooden dining table in rough pile is fantastic, and the white country kitchen with the large refrigerator in front of a concrete-look wall in the open-plan kitchen area (which is conveniently laid with dark marble tiles) is a great match. The same concrete look can also be found in the bathrooms with walk-in shower, which is bricked and has a rain shower head. Postmodernism greets nostalgia - so the rooms with partly visible old brickwork, then again a cool concrete look, cosy wooden beams and wooden ceilings as in the cosy bedrooms are linked together so well. The owners have really achieved a masterpiece with the sensitive and well thought-out renovation. The exterior is also spectacular. On the large terrace by the house is a cast large dining table. Right next door is an outdoor kitchen with a brick barbecue for chilling barbecue evenings. Surrounded by lavender and rosemary, you can listen to nothing but the sound of the sea and the seagulls. Spending the evenings here on nice days is a dream, and also in this case we think that the picture with the evening atmosphere speaks for itself. But also on cooler days or in winter, the old lighthouse house with the 9-metre-high fortress tower is a great location where you can relax and find peace in front of the large open fireplace between the living and dining areas. Nevertheless, you should also take a look at the beautiful area around Cape Marlera. The Lighthouse is located about 4 km from the village of Liznjan, which is characterised by agriculture and fishing, where you will find shops for daily needs, a pharmacy and an ATM. Medulin is a little more urban. There are numerous beach bars, restaurants and varied nightlife. Surfing, diving in the impressive underwater world, tennis, horseback riding, beach volleyball - whatever you feel like doing is available here, the picturesque and pretty place has a lot to offer. The Lighthouse "Marlera" is only 15 km away from Pula, one of the largest cities in Croatia, which is also looking forward to your visit. The airport of Pula is 18 km away, with a rental car you can easily reach your phenomenal destination and are surrounded by absolute peace within a radius of 4 km. Another little insider tip that you may have already discovered in the travel guide: Visit the island of Levan, which has a great sandy beach. The friendly owners of the old lighthouse "Marlera" are also the owners of the small island of Levan and offer you a free transfer to the island, where you can enjoy the small beach bar and grill. Even if you forget the whole world around you here, you will surely remember your stay at the Lighthouse "Marlera" for a long time.
