To avoid accidentally visiting the wrong beach, you should pay attention to the well-marked dog beaches in Croatia:

• The official dog beach is marked by a flag with a dog bone.
• A dog ban could be noted in Croatian with the words “Psi su dopušteni".

Even at wild beaches, dogs may be explicitly prohibited, so you should pay attention to the signage. If dogs are tolerated there, you must not disturb other beachgoers and must keep a sufficient distance. Additionally, you should keep your dog on a leash if you are not alone.

Where can I find dog beaches in the Kvarner Bay?

Most official dog beaches in Croatia can be found in Istria, but even if you are drawn to the islands or the Kvarner Bay, you have a wide selection of great beaches where your four-legged friend is welcome.

Dog Beach Krk

On the island of Krk, three particularly popular official dog beaches in Croatia stand out:

• Punta Sila, in Silo – this is a small secluded cove with a pebble beach and trash bins for disposing of dog waste. However, there are no additional luxuries for you here. You should bring everything you need yourself.
• Redagara, about 1 km outside the town of Krk – this pebble beach is also located in a small cove, but amidst beautiful pine forests that provide a bit of cool shade even in the hot summer. Unfortunately, there is no catering here either, so you are self-sufficient.
• Vela Plaza (Baska) – the pebble and sandy beach is about 2 km long and has excellent water quality. Nearby, you will find an interesting waterfront promenade with dog-friendly shops and cafés. There is also a pedal boat rental. Attention: Parking is subject to a fee.

Dog Beach Kvarner Bay

You can also find suitable official dog beaches on the other islands, such as:

• The dog beach Monty's Dog Beach & Bar in Banjol on the island of Rab.
• The dog beach Padova is also on the island of Rab and consists of three bathing coves.
• The dog beach Camp Kovacine in Cres on the island of Cres.
• The dog beach ACI Marina on Cres.
• The dog beach Veli Losinj in the Rovenska Bay on the island of Losinj.
• Dog beach Uvala Sakucani in Pula on the Verudela peninsula.

In addition, there are the following recommended dog beaches in the Kvarner Bay:
