The Family Trip to Croatia

Croatia has become one of the most popular travel destinations for families. Not only because of its good infrastructure and location to Central Europe has the country established itself at the top for exciting family trips. Traveling by car is still the preferred method. Families with children or pets not only have a convenient but often cheaper journey compared to flying. From Germany, you can reach the Croatian border in just 5 to 12 hours. From there, it's just a small leap until you are in Istria, the Kvarner Bay, or Dalmatia! Traveling by plane is also possible without any problems, with seven international airports available, five of which are directly on the Adriatic coast. Train, Flixbus, and Co. More and more often, alternative means of travel are being used – and besides the train, other ride-sharing options are also playing a role. What is already common for us domestically is now expanding in the European area: with Deutsche Bahn, car-sharing, Eurobus, and Flixbus, other interesting and above all cheap travel options to Croatia have opened up. Traveling by Car with Children

Croatia offers us the convenient option of traveling with our own car, especially due to its proximity to Central Europe and good infrastructure. This is a luxury that is often used because who doesn't like to travel with their familiar vehicle? For the journey, which can take between 6 and 12 hours depending on the location in Germany, you should ensure a good night's sleep and good provisions. The journey itself offers enough rest and overnight options once you leave the Federal Republic. Typically, you travel through Austria and Slovenia to Croatia. But traveling through Austria, Italy-Slovenia is also possible. Since many tourists travel here, especially in the summer season, you don't have to worry if you forget something. There are shopping opportunities along the way, even if something for the family vacation or the pet is forgotten. It is always worth being at the border crossings to Croatia early in the morning, as there can be traffic jams at the border crossings. If possible, plan your journey so that you reach the Croatian borders early in the morning. However, the rule always applies: Safety first, better to take one more break!
