November 24, 2022

When you vacation here, you will find countless aquaparks in Croatia, which are mostly adventure pools with gastronomy. But there are also amusement parks, climbing parks, or national parks for hiking and relaxing. So you always have a wide selection with a lot of variety. Swimming and fun can be found in all theme parks, water parks, adventure pools, or aquaparks in Croatia.

We briefly introduce you to the most popular aquaparks in Croatia here.

Among the most beautiful aquaparks in Croatia are especially the aquaparks in Istria, such as:

  • Aquapark Aquacolors (Porec) with wave pool, relax pool, 13 slides, children's pool, and relaxation areas with restaurants. This aquapark in Croatia even offers the possibility to organize birthday parties. It is located about 33 minutes by car from Bale. Highlights include the funnel slide, the lazy river, the huge wave pool, and the free-fall water slide.
  • Aquapark Istralandia (Novigrad) with wave pool, hydromassage, 15 slides, relax pool, and children's pool. This park is the largest aquapark in Croatia and offers many attractions for visitors of all ages. It is located only about 37 minutes by car from Bale. Highlights include the family rafting slide and the free-fall slide. There are also slides with light and sound effects. A professional animation program as well as shows and courses are also offered here.
  • Water and Paleo Park Bale with swimming pools in the shape of dinosaurs, near the paleontological sites of Camp Mon Perin in Bale. This aquapark in Croatia is interesting for the whole family and is also suitable for school groups.

Near Bale, in addition to the aquaparks in Croatia/Istria, there are also exciting climbing and adventure parks such as the Glavani Adrenaline Park as well as the Sky Fox Adrenaline Park Porec and the Zip Line of Pazin.

Aquaparks Croatia vs. National Parks

For water and sun enthusiasts, the aquaparks in Croatia are of course indispensable – but during a three-week vacation, you don't just want to see water, but also take a varied trip to the surroundings to get to know the country and its people or discover the culinary delights.

The landscape in Croatia is also worth a trip, so you should definitely see nature in the most popular national parks and explore waterfalls, caves, or islands with stunning landscapes. Adventures such as hiking, cycling, and boat tours can be well combined with these excursions.

The most popular national parks you should visit are:

  • Plitvice Lakes National Park with its 16 lakes and cave systems
  • Krka National Park with its 7 waterfalls, Roman ruins, and monastery
  • Paklenica National Park – ideal for an active vacation, also where Winnetou was filmed
  • Kornati National Park for a vacation with extensive island hopping and snorkeling excursions
  • Brijuni National Park with archaeological sites, diving opportunities, a sightseeing train, and wild animals in the safari park
  • Mljet National Park with dense forests and the famous Odysseus cave
  • Risnjak National Park with many cycling and hiking trails along with wild animals: lynxes, wolves, bears
  • Northern Velebit National Park – including a botanical garden and comfortable park taxis.

In the foreground is a small stone house with a red tiled roof, nestled in the green nature. The clear blue sky completes the peaceful scene and conveys a sense of tranquility and connection with nature.

Aquapark Dalmatia – ideal for the whole family

Aquaparks in Croatia are mainly found in Istria, but Dalmatia also has interesting offers. Here, the Aquapark Dalmatia is part of several attractions of the Amadria Park in Sibenik. In this aquapark in Croatia, you are particularly well taken care of if you are traveling with the whole family and need to cater to many interests.

The attractions of Amadria Park include, for example:

  • En Vogue Beach Club
  • Dalmatian Ethno Village
  • Aquapark Dalmatia
  • Mediterranean City.

The Aquapark Dalmatia is the first themed water park in Dalmatia and offers a wealth of different attractions for the whole family. There are six water slides, a waterfall fortress, several pools, and the gently flowing lazy river. A highlight of this aquapark in Croatia is definitely the adventure water playground with slides and cannons.

Of course, you will find plenty of opportunities to sunbathe or rest, and your physical well-being is also well taken care of in this aquapark in Croatia, for example at the Splash Bar. You can also use the volleyball court. The entrance fee for this is included in the park admission price. A highlight for the children is the fairy tale cave. Guests are supervised by lifeguards here.

Aquapark Kvarner Bay – our favorite: Aquapark Cikat on the island of Losinj

In Kvarner Bay, you will also find many bathing areas for every taste. Particularly popular is the relatively new Aquapark Cikat, which has been open since July 2015. It is Croatia's first aquapark located on an island and is situated in a pine forest at the Cikat campsite. The total size of the park is around 6300 m², of which the pool area with its seawater attractions makes up about 2400 m².

Here you will find pools with attractions such as a water castle and slides, but also relaxation pools with hydromassage or fitness areas, pool bars, and small shallow pools for babies and children. For children, there is also a fun zone with slides, and additionally, various entertainment programs are offered between the fun and relaxation zones.

Other island aquaparks in Croatia can be found on Brac (Aquapark Bol) and Rabac (Aquapark Rabac, Istria). There, you will find large water courses in the sea in front of the beach, where you can skillfully engage in sports to overcome all obstacles.
